IPTV on an Android TV box
Install IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate from the Play Store, open the app and choose Xtream Codes or M3U. The rest of the setup is the same as on a Fire TV Stick.
Why an Android TV box
A box runs the full Play Store, so you get the widest choice of players. Many boxes also carry an Ethernet port, which is the single most useful thing for a stable stream.
Setup
- Connect the box to the television and to your network. Use the Ethernet port if it has one.
- Open the Play Store and install IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate.
- Open the app and choose Login with Xtream Codes API, or the playlist option.
- Enter the username, the password and the server address, or paste the M3U link.
- Wait for the list to load and open a channel.
Box or stick
| Android TV box | Fire TV Stick | |

When a stream stutters
Restart the app, then the box. Check whether other apps still load. Use the Ethernet port if the box has one. We do not promise streams without buffering, because a stream depends on your line, your device and the source.
Questions about this page
Which box should I buy?
We do not sell hardware and we do not recommend a brand. Look for one with an Ethernet port and a current Android TV version.
Does the box come with the app?
No. Install the player from the Play Store.
Can I use the box without a Google account?
You need an account to reach the Play Store. Some boxes allow installing a player file instead.
Is a box better than a stick?
A box with an Ethernet port is the more stable option for a fixed television.
